The North Magazine Civil Works are now well underway following extensive land remediation, design work and the masterplanning exercise which has all taken place in recent years. This work is for the purchase of 13,333 cubic meters of clean material as well as the required works to carry out necessary raising and compaction of plots 1, 2 and 12 on the North Magazine. There is significant ground raising which needs to be undertaken to ensure the development platform meets flood management requirements and allows the installation of utilities. This work needs to take place alongside the main civil works and forms an essential part of preparing the land for sale and development.

Owen Pell Limited have been identified as the preferred supplier to carry out the work. The opportunity was advertised via an open procurement exercise via pro-contract for a period of three of 3 weeks. Of the responses received, Owen Pell scored highest against both cost and quality. Commercial Services have been consulted during the tender process to ensure the tender work is in line with Council CPR’s.
