Alongside the creation of new development ready land, Hereford Enterprise Zone has been undertaking a range of complementary site wide improvements and increasing ways in which people can access the zone via walking and cycling. Work along the Straight Mile forms a key part of these improvements. Phase 1 of the Straight Mile works was completed in March 2019, with phase 2 now ready to be delivered by the appointed tender.

A full open market tender exercise has been undertaken following the Council’s contract procedure rules with support from the Commercial team. Home Farm Nurseries (Pinvin) Ltd has scored highest in the evaluation exercise.

The tender is based on a 12 week delivery period, which fits with the scheduled timetable for completing the works this calendar year. The planting element of the project also needs to be carried out before the end of the planting season
