This portfolio is responsible for:

·       To provide leadership and ensure coordination across the range of council children’s services, and through engagement with partners, with a particular focus on children and young people’s health & wellbeing andsafeguarding

·       Services for vulnerable youngpeople/children/families

·       Lead member for children’s services in accordance with the Children’s Act2004

·       Corporate parenting

·       Children and young people’s education andattainment

·       Post 16 education, training and skills development, including NMiTE

·       Policy development, quality assurance, external liaison, performanceimprovement and risk assurance relevant to the portfolio at all times having regard to the cross cutting priorities of thecouncil

·       Any other specific responsibilities as allocated by theleader
