To consider an application for the variation of a Licensed Premises Gaming Machine Permit for 5 machines, in respect of ‘The Kings Fee, 49-53 Commercial Road, Hereford HR1 2BJ.’

The Licensing Officer presented the report and advised Members that it related to an application received by Wetherspoons PLC to increase the number of AWP gaming machines in The King’s Fee from 4 to 5.

 

Prior to making their decision Members heard from Mr Jordan, the Area Manager for Wetherspoons who advised that the application was a commercial decision. He added that all of the machines were located within view of the bar and that under 18’s were not permitted to use the machines. He explained the measures taken by staff to ensure that minors did not use the machines.

 

The Licensing Officer confirmed that the age restriction was printed on the machine as well as a contact number for gamaware, who offered guidance if people required assistance with a gambling addiction.

 

RESOLVED:

 

THAT the application for one additional AWP gaming machine (total of 5 machines) at the King’s Fee, 49-53 Commercial Road, Hereford, HR1 2BJ’ be approved.

To consider an application for a review of the premises licence relating to ‘Gwalia Stores, 27 -29 Broad Street, Ross on Wye, HR9 7ED’ called by Herefordshire Council as the Licensing Authority.

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer advised the Committee that a request had been received by the applicant’s legal advisor to adjourn the review hearing as 10 clear days’ notice of the hearing had not been received by his client.

 

RESOLVED

 

THAT the review of Gwalia Stores, 27-29 Broad Street, Ross-on-Wye, be adjourned until 18th September 2012.
