To note the position with regard to revenue budget monitoring as at 28th February, 2005 for Programme Areas in 2004/05.

That

(a)    the report be noted and

(b) Cabinet has welcomed the progress towards a break even position in Older People's Services but has expressed concern at the overspend in Children's Services and the Learning Disability Service in particular.  It awaits the report of the external review and recognises the need for revised arrangements for the funding of partnership projects with the Primary Care Trust which will require a robust dialogue for the financial year 2005/06.

Reports are presented to Cabinet as part of the Council’s Performance Management arrangements.  Cabinet Members will discuss the individual Programme Area figures with their Directors and Departmental Managers as appropriate.
