Decision details

Hereford City Bike Share Re-procurement

Decision Maker: Cabinet member Infrastructure and transport

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

This report seeks authority to re-procure the successful Hereford City public bike share service.

Decision:

That:

a) A public bike share service be procured in line with the council’s contract

procedure rules at a value not exceeding £500,000 utilising a 5+2+2 services

contract.

Alternative options considered:

1. Let the current contract elapse and not re-procure the bike share service.

a. This would adversely affect the Council’s ability to meet the objectives of the Local Transport Plan (LTP) and the Delivery Plan which seeks to accelerate the modal shift towards sustainable and active travel modes, reduce congestion on the roads around the city and improving the air quality within the Air Quality Management Area (AQMA). This option carries significant reputational risk.
