The purpose of this report is to inform members on the progress of improvement planning in children’s safeguarding resulting from the self-evaluation undertaken and reported to the Department of Education in July, 2013 in relation to the Herefordshire Safeguarding and Protecting Children Improvement Plan.

THAT:

(a)         the report be noted; and

(b)       a further update report be provided in three months’ time.

To ensure that Cabinet are fully informed and able to challenge the progress of improvement planning in line with the Department of Education expectations and requirements, in relation to arrangements for safeguarding children.
