- Travelers have set up an unauthorized
encampment and are currently inhabiting land owned by Herefordshire
Council.
- Section 77 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994
grants local authorities the power to direct individuals residing
in vehicles on certain types of land to remove their vehicles and
belongings and leave the land.
- Multiple complaints have been received from residents regarding
the burning of materials at the site and the general condition of
the area.
- Herefordshire Council’s Gypsy and Traveller Team and
Environmental Health Officers have undertaken welfare checks
regarding the suitability of the site for long-term
inhabitation.
