Peterchurch Primary School Rebuild - Developed Design
To approve the proceeding to the next stage of
the rebuilding of Peterchurch Primary School, on the existing site,
by commissioning a developed design (RIBA Stage 3) for a
traditional and/or modular build.
Peterchurch is a small community primary school maintained by Herefordshire Council, in the centre of the Golden Valley. The current building is not fit for purpose, there are significant suitability and condition issues.
£125,000 has been spent on urgent reactive maintenance in last 3 years; there is over £420,000 of known maintenance required over next 3 years. Additional reactive repairs will most certainly be required. Despite this, Peterchurch remains oversubscribed.
The design brief will include that the building must be Passivhaus certified or BREEAM excellent as a minimum. The developed design will include the coordinated architectural, structural and building services design and updated cost information.
