Issue details
Procurement of 3 X’s Zoom pro licences and 1 webinar licence to enable Herefordshire Council to carry out ‘virtual’ public committee meetings.
Democratic Services provide legally compliant
Committee and Member Services in supporting constituted meetings of
the Council, formulating and publishing agendas within statutory
timelines, offering constitutional and operational support to both
Elected Members and officers on process and procedures relating to
decision making in Herefordshire Council.
In response to the Covid 19 public health emergency, on Saturday 4
April, under the Local Authorities and Police and Crime Panels
(Coronavirus) (Flexibility of Local Authority and Police and Crime
Panel Meetings) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, new
regulations came into force. Those regulations enable local
authorities to:
•hold and alter the frequency and occurrence of meetings
without requirement for further notice.
•determine not to hold your annual meeting; if a council seeks
to do this current appointments will continue until the next annual
meeting or when the local authority determines.
•hold meetings remotely, including by (but not limited to)
telephone conferencing, video conferencing, live webcast, and live
interactive streaming. And,
•permit public and press access to meetings and documents
through similar remote access
The purchase of Zoom Pro, a virtual meeting platform, enables
Hereford council to be compliant with these new regulations
