Peaceable re-entry of council owned properties
26/03/2026 - Peaceable re-entry of council owned properties
To enable repossession to be taken where
occupiers of council property are in breach of the terms of their
occupancy agreements and any attempts to have the breach remedied
have failed.
The leases of council properties have forfeiture clauses which
allow for the council to make peaceable re-entry
Taking repossession mitigates against further and/or future
financial loss to the council
