Purpose:

To consider the implementation of a Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which would be to impose a maximum speed limit of fifty miles per hour on the A456 and U94411 through Little Hereford.

Decision:

That subject to the consideration of any objections a Traffic Regulation Order is introduced, the effect of which would be to impose a maximum speed of fifty miles per hour in Little Hereford as follows:

i).         A456

From a point 360 metres north west of its junction with the C1051, in an easterly direction for a distance of 2813 metres, to a point 601 metres east of its junction with the U94411.

 

ii)                 U94411

From its junction with the A456, in a northerly direction for its whole length, a distance of 270 metres.

Reasons for the decision:

The implementation of the proposed speed restriction should result in an improvement to road safety and enhance the community identity, whilst allaying the fears of residents over vehicle speeds along the A456 in Little Hereford.

Alternative options considered:

The proposed fifty miles per hour speed restriction on the A456 and U94411 through Little Hereford is not implemented.
