Decision to award a short term contract to purchase a taxi for 2 learning disabled adults, up to an 8 week period for a total of £270 per week, at a maximum total of £2,160.

The Council followed a process to seek a supplier to deliver this work via the transport framework. However, providers on the framework have not been able to respond to requests for these specific journeys and as such the Councils procurement procedures have been followed

In order for the Council to meet its legal obligations in respect of eligible social care needs, off framework options needed to be sought. A direct award has been issued for a maximum of 8 weeks to enable Direct Payments to be set up for the 2 individuals with assessed social care needs.
