Decision details
Feasibility work to provide options for Marlbrook Primary School
Decision Maker: Cabinet member corporate strategy and budget
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: Yes
Purpose:
To enable approval to be given for the
completion of feasibility work to establish options and costs to
make Marlbrook primary school a three form entry school and to
prepare the necessary application documents and reports to support
a planning application and any decisions regarding capital
expenditure.
Decision:
That:
the interim director of children’s wellbeing be authorised to take all operational decisions necessary to complete feasibility work, including information that is necessary to support a planning application, to a total cost of £210k.
Alternative options considered:
Feasibility work is not completed. This would not enable a decision to be taken on the future expansion of Marlbrook Primary School. The expansion has already been considered as part of the council’s capital programme and is an identified scheme approved by full Council.
Wards Affected: Red Hill;
Consultees
Some consultation work has taken place and has
included school headteachers, staff and governors, the local ward
member Cllr Paul Rone, and members of the community. The comments
received will inform the options that are put forward through the
feasibility work.
