FURTHER EXTENSION TO THE CCTV PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT

Decision Maker: Officer decision - economy, communities and corporate (Historic)

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

To further extend the contract with Octaga Security Services Ltd for a period of 6 months for the provision of preventative maintenance of public open space CCTV equipment.  The 3 year contract has already been extended by 6 months up until 30th September.  This further extension will take the contract to 31st March 2018 at a total cost of  £4,076.

Reasons for the decision:

Due to not having clarification on the funding from the PCC, it would not be prudent to conduct a tender process to appoint another contractor for such a short period of time.

To enter into a further 6 months extension will enable a decision to be made as to the future of the CCTV service across the county and to undertake a procurement process if the service is to continue.

Alternative options considered:

Due to not having clarification on the funding from the PCC, it would not be prudent to conduct a tender process to appoint another contractor for such a short period of time.

Not to maintain the equipment which could risk the equipment falling into disrepair and there would not be sufficient funds to bring it up to standard.
