Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE)
Purpose of committee
The Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) is a permanent body to advise Herefordshire Council on matters concerned with the provision of Religious Education and Collective Worship. SACRE is comprised of four groups or ‘committees’ representing, respectively: Christian denominations; the Church of England; such associations representing teachers and the local education authority. Meetings are open to the press and public.
