Council response

Thank you for sending the petition to the council highlighting your concerns relating to the footways from the second Crossways to the fire station and the carriageway surface at the second Crossways.

The council service providers, Balfour Beatty Living Places, have been working with the council and parish council to deliver a package of highway and traffic improvements in Peterchurch. The section of footway has been identified by the working group as in need of resurfacing. A significant amount of the route has been prioritised, the programme Is being finalised. The work is programmed to be completed by the end of the financial year.

The carriageway at Crossways has deteriorated, it has not been identified in this year’s annual or forward plan for resurfacing. The council’s Highways Maintenance Plan requires the network to be inspected regularly identifying change in condition, the estate is on an annual programme of inspection. The service provider, BBLP, will also respond to concerns relating to the condition with inspections appropriate to the request for service. The annual and forward plan are reviewed annually to accommodate change in condition and prioritise accordingly.
