To allocate and spend supercycle highway funding on the delivery of Hereford ‘Quiet Routes’ Active Travel Measures. This work will involve improvements to a series of 'quiet routes' to create improved walking and cycling for people accessing Hereford Enterprise Zone, whilst also enabling greater connectivity around Hereford more generally.

To update members on the progress of internal audit work and to bring to their attention any key internal control issues arising from work recently completed. To enable the committee to monitor performance of the internal audit team against the approved plan.

To assure the committee that action is being taken on risk related issues identified by internal audit. This is monitored by acceptance by management of audit recommendations and progress updates in implementing the agreed action plans. In addition, audit recommendations not accepted by management are reviewed and progress to an appropriate recommendation to cabinet if it is considered that the course of action proposed by management presents a risk in terms of the effectiveness of or compliance with the council’s control environment.

To agree the property services planned and reactive maintenance programme 2023/24 to ensure the continuing upkeep, improvements and maintenance of the council’s property assets and also to allow the council to fulfil its obligations to carry out statutory compliance inspections and related remedial works.

The maintenance budget subject to approval at the council budget meeting on 10th February 2023 is to be spent on the continuing upkeep, cleaning and maintenance of the council’s 373 key property assets and also to allow the council to fulfil its obligations to carry out compliance checks and best practice inspections so as to maintain a safe environment for the users of the buildings and for the upkeep of the property.

To approve the 2023/24 local council tax reduction scheme (CTR).

Council tax charges can be reduced where the bill payer meets certain set criteria contained in the council tax reduction scheme (CTR). The 2022/23 CTR scheme was approved by Council on 11 February 2022.

It is a legal requirement to annually review the council’s council tax reduction scheme and the decision to approve the scheme is reserved to full Council.
