17/06/2026 - Children’s Services Statutory Direction
The Secretary of State issued Herefordshire
Council with a statutory direction and appointed a Commissioner for
Children's Services following the inadequate judgement of its
children's services in July 22. Following the inspection of
children's services in November 25 which saw a judgement of Good in
all areas with Outstanding in leadership the commissioner has now
completed their final report. That report makes a recommendation to
the Secretary of State that the statutory direction is
lifted.
