Purpose:
To instruct Balfour Beatty to supply, deliver,
off-load, install and commission a welfare unit at Strangford
landfill site.
To provide welfare facilities for officers working on a remote
closed landfill site, as shown in the outline business case. The
Council to provide suitable and sufficient toilets and washing
facilities so far as reasonably practicable, to include flushing
toilets and running water for washing.
To ensure the organisation is compliant with the Workplace (Health,
Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and the Equality Act (2010),
in providing suitable worker facilities for and making reasonable
adjustment for an officer with identified needs and to ensure
general accordance with the Health and Safety Approved Code of
Practice note 211 for remote workplaces and temporary work
sites.
Ongoing operations and maintenance costs to be funded by the
Environmental Health revenue budget, to include completing water
checks.
