Dealing with newly registered low risk Food hygiene premises

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the food hygiene inspection programme has been severely impacted. There has been a very limited number of programmed visits undertaken, meaning that the programme is behind by over a year. Once the Covid-19 lock down has been lifted, inspections will need to focus on higher risk food premises rather than processing low risk food registrations. Examples of businesses that would be classed as low risk include, domestic cake makers, childminders (serving fruit/low risk snacks), chemists & clothing retailers selling sweets.
