Erecting a robust new 8/6/8 twin wire fence on the racecourse side of the
existing fence between the Grandstand road dog walk area and the
racecourse, leaving the existing concrete post and weld mesh fence in situ, will improve security, prevent continued public access to the course and avoid further damage.
It is the council’s responsibility under the lease to repair the current weld
mesh fence so as to prevent trespass by the public which is an ongoing
revenue cost.
