The decision to invest in the winter fleet was taken in the Capital Investment in Infrastructure 2020/21 public Realm Annual Plan report on the 6th August, 2020 by the Cabinet Member Transport and Infrastructure.

The fleet is in need to investment due to the age and capability, the investment will include for an additional gritter and provide additional capability in the use of the tractor in the winter service. The investment will also include mobile sensors which will add to the inspections and assist in the decision making process.
