Kirkham Gardens, Bromyard - pavement parking

We the undersigned petition the council to paint double yellow lines up the pavement side of Kirkham Gardens hill, to allow the elderly residents safe passage in and out of the Kirkham Gardens. The cars that park there at present do so on the pavement so the residents have to walk in the road.

We are in receipt of the attached petition requesting double yellow lines along Kirkham Gardens hill to allow the elderly residents safe passage (ingress/egress). The Town Council discussed the situation and resolved to support this request. We look forward to receiving your acknowlegment and advices within the usual timeframe.

Yours faithfully

Town Clerk, Bromyard and Winslow Town Council

Council response

Thank you for this petition, in response: a traffic regulation order is required to enable Herefordshire Council, or others, to lawfully paint double yellow lines up the pavement side of Kirkham Gardens hill and restrict cars from parking as they presently do so on the pavement.

Details of Traffic Regulation Orders and how to progress them are available at:

https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/info/200196/roads/204/traffic_regulations/2

We will progress any application made by Bromyard and Winslow Town Council for a traffic regulation order through the required legal process. Such application will have to be progressed as part of our countywide programme in accord with the priority that we can assign to it and the resources that we have available to progress that programme of work. We do have to make decisions about priority as we have an increasingly limited budget and we must ensure that we deal with orders that have the greatest impact on safety first. Bromyard and Winslow Town Council can, if they choose to do so and their own budget allows, actually progress this order sooner through their own investment in its progression using the community commissioning model:

Thank you again for your petition and for taking the time and effort to collate and submit it, we will do all we can to progress this application as soon as we can.
