To agree Herefordshire Council’s statement in addressing Modern Slavery. The Modern Slavery Act 2015 places specific responsibilities on organisations to ensure slavery and human trafficking does not exist within its supply chain or in any part of its own business. The term modern slavery captures a whole range of exploitation with the report and statement outlining how the council can use its powers, influence and responsibilities to prevent and act against modern slavery.

23/08/2019 - Fastershire Broadband Strategy 2019-2022

Purpose – to consider the latest iteration of the Fastershire Broadband Strategy which will direct the approaches of the Fastershire project that will drive the deployment of high-speed broadband infrastructure throughout Herefordshire and Gloucestershire through to 2022.

The strategy will not seek additional council resources beyond those already agreed. Rather it will outline the methodology for reaching as many of the final few percent of premises in each county as possible using existing resources and reinvestment with a view to making Herefordshire one of the most digitally connected rural counties in the country.

22/08/2019 - Business Energy Efficiency Programme

To approve the Council's participation in the second phase of the European Regional Development Funded Business Energy Efficiency Programme (BEEP) led by Worcestershire County Council.

This three year project will offer 50% capital grants of up to £20,000 to small and medium sized business in Herefordshire to support investment in energy efficiency, waste and water reduction projects.

Led by Worcestershire County Council this project will support businesses across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

The total grant allocation for businesses in Herefordshire is £244,800.
