Exclusion of public and press

In the opinion of the Proper Officer, the following item will not be, or is likely not to be, open to the public and press at the time it is considered.

 

RECOMMENDATION:         that under section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12(A) of the Act, as indicated below and it is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

 

1       Information relating to any individual.

 

2        Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual.

 

 

 

Minutes:

Under section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public was excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Schedule 12(A) of the Act, as indicated below and it is considered that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

 

1              Information relating to any individual.

 

2              Information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual.

Application to re-instate an expired hackney carriage vehicle licence H196 outside standard condition 11.5

To decide whether to licence a vehicle outside the standards vehicle licence conditions.

SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF EXEMPT INFORMATION

 

Members of the council’s regulatory sub-committee considered the above appeal, full details of which appeared before the Members in their agenda and the background papers.

 

Prior to making their decision the Members heard from the applicant and Fred Spriggs, representing the Licensing Authority.  The applicant explained to the steps taken to renew the taxi licence and the fact that the licensing section were using an incorrect address.   It was noted that it was the responsibility of the taxi licence holder to ensure that the licence was renewed in a timely manner.    It was noted that the taxi licence holder had held such licences for a number of years and the expiry date was noted on the vehicle plate.

 

 

Having carefully considered those matters brought before them, the sub-committee were of the opinion that the application be refused as follows.

 

RESOLVED

 

It is the decision of the sub-committee that the application be refused.

Application to deviate from standard hackney carriage vehicle licence condition 10.1(c)

To decide whether to licence a vehicle outside the standards vehicle licence conditions.

Members of the Council’s regulatory sub-committee considered the above appeal, full details of which appeared before the Members in their agenda and the background papers.

 

Prior to making their decision the Members heard from the applicant and Fred Spriggs, representing the Licensing Authority.  The applicant explained to the reasons for wishing to deviate from the council’s taxi licensing policy.  

 

Having carefully considered those matters brought before them, the members did not consider there were any compelling justification to depart from the council’s policy and the sub-committee were of the opinion that the application be refused as follows.

It is the decision of the sub-committee that the application be refused.
