Decision details
AMENDMENT - Consideration of a 7.5 tonne weight restriction (except for access) in Bromyard town centre
Decision Maker: Acting Assistant Director for Highways and Transport
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To consider the appropriateness of the
introduction of 7.5 tonne weight restriction (except for access) on
the following roads in Bromyard.
• New Road
• Pump Street
• Frog Street
• Broad Street
• High Street • Cruxwell Street
• Rowberry Street
• Old Road
• Clover Road
• Winslow Road
The weight restriction traffic Order would come with an
“except for access” clause. This exemption applies to
vehicles requiring access to properties or land adjoining the
aforementioned streets.
The purpose of this Order is to stop vehicles over 7.5 tonnes from
using these streets purely as a cut-through; thereby directing such
vehicles along the B4203 Sherford Street and Station Road and thus
away from the residential streets and town centre streets.
The scope of the review is set out in Appendix A and the proposal
signage is shown in Appendix B.
